Dot grew up in a military family, living mostly in North Carolina and Virginia. She moved to Colorado with her future husband in 2003 after seeing the Rocky Mountains for the first time. She has a B.A. in French from Salem College, an MBA from Regis University, and is a Master’s candidate studying Education & Human Development (emphasis in Early Literacy) from the University of Colorado – Denver. After a career in marketing, Dot transitioned into child welfare and education once she became a parent. She has worked in DPS since 2013, working with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders as either a paraprofessional or teacher intern. Dot completed the Stanley British Teacher Prep Program in 2016, and worked at a private school teaching highly-gifted 1st/2nd students before returning to DPS. She is thrilled to be a part of the Westerly Creek team! In her spare time, she is a hockey and soccer mom to her son Ryder and enjoys planning her family's next adventure. She loves yoga, camping, fishing, snowboarding, floating in her kayak and the occasional DIY project.
