Erin is a Colorado native born in Fort Collins and raised in Denver. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Metropolitan State University of Denver with an emphasis in drawing and her K-12 Art Education License. She began her art teaching career in 2011 in the Far North East Denver region serving students from Montbello and Green Valley Ranch. She eagerly joined the WCE team in December of 2013. Erin stays very active in the local art and art education scenes in Denver. She is a member of Theory Loves Practice, a research group that brings art educators together monthly to cultivate contemporary arts practices in their classrooms. In addition to a strong commitment to arts education, Erin is also an active, professional artist having shown at a handful of local galleries and managed a small art co-op called Good Thieves Press in 2013. When she isn’t empowering young artists in the classroom, Erin spends her time constructing mixed media assemblages, altering books and making quirky drawings. Currently, her creative focus is on her emerging street art character, Ermal. Erin lives with her husband, Andrew and two cats Iris and Jynx.
