Marlene was raised in Ohio and received her B.A. in Sociology from Ohio University. After living in Mexico for a year where she worked as a volunteer teacher in an orphanage, she realized that working with children and helping them to explore, challenging themselves, taking risks, and finding joy in learning was what she wanted to do. She moved to Colorado in 2012 and has been teaching students of diverse backgrounds around Denver. Marlene has been with DPS since 2015 and she is so excited to join the Westerly Creek Community! Marlene loves seeing live music, traveling and crafting. She also loves spending time with her boyfriend, Phillip; their baby, Salvador; and their dog, Bella.
