Sara grew up in Arkansas and received her BSW from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Once she received her MSW degree from University of Arkansas in 1999, she moved to Colorado. After deciding to make a career change, she attended Metropolitan State University and received her Elementary Education endorsement. She has been teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade at Steele Elementary in DPS since 2005. She was selected for an international teacher exchange in 2013 and taught 2nd grade in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. She began teaching ESL in 2018 after having her son, Jack in 2017. She teaches ESL in the mornings at Steele Elementary and now afternoons at Westerly Creek. She loves to travel with her family and enjoys playing with her son and miniature schnauzer, Lucy, at the park.
