Lacey has been teaching since 2008 and is passionate about educating students with exceptional needs. She has a degree in Special Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Before coming to Westerly Creek in 2012, she taught at University Park Elementary as a Primary Affective Needs teacher. While at University Park she taught students with severe emotional needs and with the help of an amazing team, her program produced several success stories by creating a positive, nurturing learning environment. For the last 6 years, Lacey has been a Mild/Moderate Special Educator who teaches students from Kindergarten through 5th grade with a variety of needs including literacy, math and behavior support. She works in collaboration with grade-level teachers to address major curriculum concepts and helps break down any barriers students have that may impact their ability to access the general education curriculum. Lacey is married and has two young boys, Oliver “Oli” and Niles who both attend Westerly Creek. She grew up in Norman Oklahoma, lived in San Diego for four years before moving to Denver in 2000. She loves being a mom, spending time with family and friends, snowboarding, hiking, shopping, gardening, and traveling.
