Amy is a Denver native. She attended Colorado College and Metro State where she earned a B.S. in Behavioral Science. After working with inner city non-profit creative art programs, teaching ECE at Fisher Early Learning Center, and teaching in Cairo, Egypt, she realized teaching was the way to ignite a love of learning. She went back to school to earn her Masters in Education from Regis University and taught 2nd grade in a Title 1 Aurora Public School for 8 years. When on the hunt to find an elementary school for her son, she fell in love with Westerly Creek and for the first time contemplated a major professional change. She started teaching kindergarten at WCE in 2016. When not in school you can find her on long road trips with her husband Jeffrey and son Sandoval, baking, crafting, tending to her cacti, or building LEGOs!
