All WCE families will be able to complete registration online through the DPS Parent

Portal. You will be able to upload proof of address, immunization records, and birth verification documents when you complete the online registration process. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, you will need to register for one by accessing the DPS Parent Portal at: https://myportal.dpsk12.org/. Families will be able to see homeroom teacher assignments in Parent Portal; however, this information is subject to change based on enrollment numbers.

Please join us for our annual Wolf Den Welcome from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. The Wolf Den Welcome provides an opportunity for families to come and meet their student’s teachers, see the classroom, meet other incoming families, and kick off the start of the school year in a fun way. Food trucks and other school staff and school/community stakeholders will all be present to meet and greet each of our students and families.

All incoming Kindergarten students will be assessed to determine their current skill levels.  Parents will complete registration via the Sign-up Genius links shared in the kindergarten email.

All ECE and 1st through 5th grade students will report for their first day of school. Students will meet at their designated areas, as communicated by grade-level teachers. Students will begin entering the building at 9:00 a.m. Students will be dismissed at 4:00 p.m. to the same areas where they gather for morning arrival. Any primary students (ECE-2nd) who attend Discovery Link in the morning or afternoon will be picked up and dropped off by Discovery Link staff. Any intermediate students (3rd-5th) will be dismissed directly to class in the morning and dismissed directly from class to Discovery Link.

All Kindergarten students will report for their first day of school. All students and families will meet at the “Eye” park, located at 29th and Xenia St. between 8:30 and 8:40 am. After a brief welcome from the principal and introduction of teachers, parents will walk with their students, staff members and other families to the school to drop students off at their classrooms. Kindergarten students who attend Discovery Link in the morning or afternoon will be picked up and dropped off by Discovery Link staff.

Mark your calendars for our annual Back-to-School Night! We will be hosting over Zoom again this year – join us to learn more about the classrooms, the teachers, and our wonderful school. We will offer two sessions – one at 5:00 pm and one at 6:00 pm. The same information will be shared at both sessions, and Zoom links will be sent out prior to the Back-to-School Night.
