Updates have been made re: Back to School Nights for ECE and 5th Grade, as well as info re: Pool to School and Kindergarten First Day.  We hope you are enjoying the summer so far!  Please keep in mind the following important dates and events as you prepare for the upcoming school year.  

• Registration Verification for ECE and all students new to Denver Public Schools takes place on-site at WCE.  If you have not yet verified your registration or submitted your kiddo’s birth certificate and immunization records, you must take these steps prior to the start of school.
• All other grades need to complete verification online through the DPS Parent Portal.  Many families have not yet taken this important step.  If you have questions about whether you should do online vs. on-site verification, please contact the school office at 720-424-3160.
• Wolf Den Welcome | August 18 | 3-6 PM is Drop in anytime for our annual welcome back event. During Wolf Den Welcome students will learn their classroom assignments & meet their teachers, parents can purchase spirit merchandise, join the PTA, and sign up for volunteer opportunities in their classroom(s), and everyone can reconnect with friends.  Don’t miss this fun traditional event!  (See Back to School Night section for info on ECE’s Back to School time during Wolf Den Welcome.)
• Back to School Nights for Kinder through 4th grades will take place on August 31, 6-8 PM.  There will be two sessions. ECE Back to School will take place in the cafeteria from 3-4 PM, during Wolf Den Welcome and 5th Grade Back to School night takes place Sept. 7th from 6-7 PM in the Library.  Continue to check the school calendar, school website, and weekly email blasts throughout the year for updates  on all school events/activities. • Medications information:  If your child needs medications kept/administered at school, or has asthma, please see the school health information tab on our website to download the appropriate forms and get necessary information about steps to take.  These forms must be completed and submitted with the appropriately labeled and packaged medication to the school nurse before your child can receive medications at school.
• School Supply Lists:  WCE School Supply Lists 2017-18. If you are purchasing supplies on your own, you can bring them to school at Wolf Den Welcome on Friday, August 18th.  If you ordered supplies earlier this summer through 1st Day School Supplies, they will be sent directly to the school the week of August 14th.
• Pool to School:  The first day of school is exciting and we celebrate by walking together to WCE from the Aviator Pool (28th and Uinta).  If you are interested in taking part, meet at the Aviator Pool pocket park at 8:30 a.m. Kindergarten Families are also welcome to join us but will have a walk to school event of their own on Wednesday, Aug. 23rd at the Eye Statue on 29th Ave, a block north of WCE – start time is 8:40 a.m.
• Solar Eclipse:  The first day is getting more exciting, as students will be able to learn about and watch this historic event together! Protective eyewear will be provided for safe viewing.
